Kanthal A1 wire is well known around the world for its heat resistant properties.

It is also widely know for its suitability for use alongside superfine mesh for wicking in e-cigarette atomizers.

It has a high heat resistance - up to 1400°C (2600°F), with a melting point of 1600°C.

Wires Explained:

Diameter - ø is the symbol for wire diameter. The diameter given is the total thickness of the wire. This larger the number the thicker the wire.

Millimetres (mm) - The metric system is used in Europe and most of the rest of world. In this system wires are measured in millimetres (mm) and centimetres (cm). This is a very precise means of measuring wires as fine as ours.

There are 10mm per cm

For example - 5mm wire is 0.5cm

Inches (") - The imperial system is used by the US and several other nations. Its main way of measuring wire is inches.

1 inch (") = 2.54 cm or 25.4 mm

For example - 0.3mm wire is equivalent 0.012"

Gauge - Wire gauge refers to a specific standardised diameter of wire. The higher the gauge the thinner the wire.
